The cheapest time to visit Boston is in the winter, and the most popular time is in the summer. Visit in the spring if you want decent weather but don't want to spend too much on accommodation. Boston hotels are usually reasonably priced during the spring months. You can also consider staying outside of downtown in surrounding neighborhoods such as Cambridge, Brookline, Concord, Braintree and Andover.
